Both are 2012 models - I can get the Giant online for just under £1500 delivered or the Cube for £1600 from my lbs.

Giant has ultegra apart from chain and cassette which are 105 and fininshing kit is all Giant own brand.
Cube has full Ultegra & syntace kit with Easton EA 50wheels.

Giant looks "boring", whereas the Cube is almost too much bling for me ( as in too many graphics on wheels, tyres).

Have ridden both and both feel comfy.
How easy is it to remove graphic stickers from the wheels? Are the EA50 aero wheels affected by cross winds?

I think I want the Cube as it has better kit & I can get it locally, but not sure which is the best bike. I know they are both good bikes at this price range but it is also a lot of money to spend on the wrong" bike.

To throw a further spanner in the works I also rode a Caad 10 Ultegra 2012 - apart from the noisey Aksium rear freewheel I also like this bike. I know geometry is different but still felt good to ride.

I am now almost more confused after riding a few bikes than I was trying to narrow my search down.
ANy good advice from anyone o which of these three I should buy, gratefully appreciated.

  • I went two weeks ago with cash in pocket to buy Giant Defy 1 Composite after looking closely at them, but after talking to the shop and pointing out my requirements i ended up with a Specialized Tarmac Comp!

Glad i bought the Comp, gave it a 40 mile run out last saturday and it fits the bill i am pleased to say.

The Giant was going to be a bit relaxed for me, but each to their own, so you have to decide what suits your style of riding.
