Which Bike? Canyon/bianchi

Hi All,

I bought two months ago a Cube Peloton as my first road bike! Completely loved it, until some **** decided to take that and my cube mountain bike from the bike shed!

I now have 0 bikes, but my insurance money is hopefully arriving this weekend. But due to the excess I will probably only be able to afford one bike! Im now looking to replace the road bike ASAP! My problem is I cant get hold of the same bike in the same size until at least december (and with the cycle bug I can't wait that long).

So, I have found these two alternatives and wondered which people would suggest, or feel free to throw something else into the mix! I 'was' using the cube for getting to work, entering sportives and going out on Saturday morning club rides.

BIANCHI VIA NIRONE XENON - this is on sale at my LBS, so I get more bike then I originally paid for;

or

Canyon Roadlite AL 6.0 - this is pretty loaded for the money, just obviously cant test one... but it does look tempting!

Any how cheers for any replies! :D

Sorry to hear that. I would be after blood if that was me.

Anyway, if you're after a Cube Peloton I would highly recommend checking out these guys www.mhw-bike.com
I got a Cube Peloton SL 2012 from them recently in a size and spec (compact) that had long been sold out in UK/the galaxy. I even got it with a 20% discount and free shipping (which took 3 days).

I was in the same boat as you after looking at the Via Nirone, but after a test ride it just wasn't right for me hence me searching high and low for the Cube.

You're right, the Peloton - whether Pro, Race, SL - is one hell of a bike.

  • I'll have a look on here thanks. The reason I looked at the canyon is its similar to the cube but with a really good spec for the money (sram or shimano 105, the same priced cube is shimano sora?).

Ill give the bianchi a go on Sat, but did here from the LBS that they are slightly awkward.

And you tend to get a fairly low spec groupset on Bianchi for the money. Nice bikes though.
    Yellow is the new Black.
  • So would anyone recommend the canyon...

  • never ridden either, but seriously considered a via nerone.

canyon in general are extremely popular. bianchi looks lovely though, both good bikes not much to choose between them i reckon, just go on best fit personal desire. i personally would choose either over the cube but then again i have nothing to base that opinion on really!
  • Well hopefully someone here might have bought a canyon, then they can supply me with some info...

Why not go for another cube?
    Wanted: Cube Streamer/Agree GTC Compact / Pro/ Race : 53cm
  • I'm struggling to find one in my size again, also as stupid as it sounds I'm slightly cautious about having another cube, not had much luck with my previous two! Fresh start and all that...

Also I have seen that the canyon has an option for sram apex? No extra cost or is the 105 still preferred?

  • Personally, Apex.

Re : the heart comment above.

I've been looking at MTB's all day, Dales, Cubes, etc.

    Head says get something cheap.

    Heart says Canyon.

  • Well im pretty sure now that im getting the Canyon! 8)

Ill still have a go on the Bianchi at the weekend to make sure, but my mind is made (value for money)

All to decide now is the groupset, 105 or Apex. The Apex set up is slightly heavier with the bike set up they have on offer!

  • I like the black one myself. But, in white, the white on the apex levers and chainset is a better match IMO.

  • I also like the black/yellow one, but do like the idea of the SRAM which they only do on the SL model.

I had a Canyon Rl 7.0 Ultegra. Absolutely superb alu bike. Very comfy, fast, and of course great value for money. Only sold to fund purchase for a Canyon SLX which would be my 3rd Canyon bought so far :)

Edit: didn't see the second page and that you had already bought it.
