First bike advice

I'm looking at buying my 1st road bike on a budget of around £500-600 and I've come across these 3 bikes in my price range and I'm looking for a bit of advice as to which one to choose as I only have limited knowledge...

I'll be looking to go a couple of times per week nothing hardcore.

Assuming you can, go for the one that excites you the most They are all good bikes to start off on and I don't think you would be disappointed with any of them

I think the allez won the "review" in the mag against those two others. All good beginners bikes for sure. Pick your favourite colour...

Looking closer at the spec the Giant shifters are Shimano 2300 and the Trek has Shimano 2300 sti 8 speed. What is the difference?
