Mavic Rush for SPD's

Hi - Looking into purchasing cycling shoes with recessed cleats and have been reading up on various makes including the Mavic Rush which is getting good reviews.
Can anyone let me know if they have any experience with these and advise on comfort, sizing, appropriateness for a first time using cleats? Also any alternatives?
Finally any recommendations on a first set of SPD's for a beginner?
Many thanks - John

You should try some shoes on from different manufacturers as the fit varies a lot. Some will work for you, others won't, but you'll have no way of knowing unless you try some on before buying.More problems but still living....0

Shimano M520s and some budget shoes from Shimano, Spesh, Mavic or whatever fits.
Check CRC for some good deals on Shimano shoes, check ebay/Merlin for the 520s.
If you spend a bit more then get M540/XT spuds and carbon-soled shoes.

Thanks for the tips guys0

Shoes are a great price and first pair I've had for 18 months and are still going strong. Very comfortable too and you can walk in them without ruining cleats. Bonus. With wiggle easy returns you can order in confidence if you get the wrong size. I went up one size.
Pedals have performed great also and still going strongShare The Road Event http://www.sharetheroadride.co.uk
