Owing to some cack handedness on my part, I've managed to damage the B bolt allen head on the rear derailleur that fixes it to the hanger. Thankfully SRAM do a replacement kit but for the life of me I can't see how you remove the existing B bolt; anyone experience or knowledge of this?

Cheers. Had seen that but mine doesn't seem to have a C-clip and instead has what looks like a pressed washer? I'll have a closer look.

to remove the hanger bolt, there is a very thin helical spring washer holding it in place (assuming it's like a red rear mech), the washer makes about 2 full turns around the bolt

you need to use a fine pick to lift the end up/around, it's a bit fiddly but once you get the end of the washer accessible you can use some fine pliers to pull it off

That sounds like what I can see. Will give that a try thanks.

Any tips for getting the new one on? I've managed to salvage the hanger at the expense of the B-bolt but it is proving difficult to get the new helical washer in place over the spring washer.

i think i just held it to the end of the shaft then used the pick to prise one end along the shaft, so it extended like a spring, then just eased it down the shaft and into the retaining slot

it's very springy, didn't seem like the force caused any kinks in it

That's what I was worried of. I have a spare so will try and add a bit of stress to it if it's the only way. Cheers.
