  • I ordered a rear one for my new build, and it seems very good right now, but that is just based on putting it on the bike. I haven't had a chance to try it out yet as the bike isn't built.

Which did you purchase as there's 2 types Ti super fly and there standard variant.?

The Ti set up are light though.

I'm not too sure, I think it was only the standard ones though.

Well my lightweight zoom clamp arrived 5.5 grams
    image-50.jpg

However things didn't go to plan new clamp on nipped up seat post not secure nipped up a little further still no joy, didn't want to over tighten just in case bolt rounds of, so off goes the clamp now noticed were the clamp has gripped it's taken the paint off now not impressed in the slightest fookin pissed off.
    image-49.jpg

Reverted back to the hope clamp I thing the lightweight clamp is just to weak waiting on response of xc racer.

I fitted one of those on my Scale 20. The post did slip initially, but I put that down to lack of carbon paste between seatpost and seat tube!... It's ok, now.
But, there is more than 4nm's on it, I know

EDIT: It looks like you had the clamp oppsed to the cut out in your tube. Maybe it would pull in better, if you face the clamp forwards... :?

    Hopper,

Tried clamp both ways even nipped up to the point any further I rekon either the clamp will snap or the bolt will snap or round off.
Still no joy gutted more about the paint
  • But you don't see the paint.

    Seriously.

Well been down the body shop after looking at various Reds.. Bike should make paint codes for all bikes!
Best match not perfect but will do for now Vauxhall flame red.
    image-53.jpg
Prepped the area couple of coats later just waiting for to dry properly then will use my Das-6 to smooth and blend in
    Pic still tacky
    image-55.jpg
Also touched up the shitty brake pad retaining pin.
    image-54.jpg

Will get a pic tonight once dry

There's a line when it comes to looking after your bike... touching up the paint on a tiny section of the frame covered by the seatclamp has taken you beyond that line

I'd have left it off and saved the 0.0257g in weight.

I'm actually surprised you're not into unicycling, they weigh much less.

Way too much going on colour wise, clashes. Said it before, but I'll say it again, the gold looks crap.

I challenge you to look at those bolts whilst riding!

Dont really see the point. Once I spent stupid money on red anodised resovoir caps for my brakes. Guess what? It all got scratched back to bare metal in a crash. I now only buy bits that are functional.

Its not my cup of tea, admittedly, but the only point that matters is that it makes the lad happy! If life were merely about functionality it would be so dreadfully dull and soulless.

I like my bikes to look the part, but that is on a whole new level of analness, why on earth would spend money on such a tiny part that's gonna get covered in mud after 2 sec.... oh yeah wait this bike see's no such thing.
