Far too much 'lol'ing going on. LOL.

Why would you change to SIDs? Unless there's a problem with the Fox don't waste your money I say, having had both recently, there's not much in it!

You are advising Racefacegt not to waste his money? Ha ha ha!

I'm being good now not spending! Well not on the bike anyway

Functional equipment only - no bling. SLX, probably RF bars/stem superstar wheels then ride for another 7 or 8 years.

IME the issue with Shimano cranks as is much on the ends and the sides than the actual face of the crank, I'd go back to helitape covering more of the crank.

Nothing wrong with one that looks like it's been used either!
  • In fact, there's a lot more right with that.

I like to keep my bikes looking nice, but I also like to use them, and they don't get unnecessarily pampered!

The price of parts is a lot less if you dont buy new ones every five minutes. Here's what I do - buy a frame, buy a cheap deore groupset, attach it to frame, attach some other stuff. Ride bike until something breaks (3 years on nothing has). Replace if and when neccessary.

Worrying about keeping a crank in good nick with one piece of plastic instead of another is the sort of wacko ocd that will probably have you sat in a belltower taking pot shots at saturday shoppers before the end of the year.

Sid teams carbon black box technology.

Don't exist. SID Teams are not carbon, they're either SID World Cups with a carbon CSU, or SID Teams with an alu CSU.

SID World Cups are lighter, but you lose a good chunk of that with the heavy steerer bung you need for a carbon steerer. If you get the XX ones they're heavier than a fork with MoCo and a crown mounted lockout.

Your correct about the SIDS ended up getting sorted out by my lbs a straight swop as he was after a color change.

Will post pics later first impressions lighter than the Fox variant, however my old Rct 3 were lighter,
Also SIDS are defo the harder ride alot firmer than the Fox.

    Take some air out then?

So they're not World Cups? Not sure I'd have changed, if nothing else the Fox are worth more.

Will check the setting tomorrow and adjust according, tbh I prefer SIDS to Fox gutted my last set had a to short stearer tube, and there the 2010 Black box team in black with red / decal also got a few other colours.
