Insurance for when you are out on the road

Morning everyone,
I had not really considered insurance for crashes/liability etc (bikes are covered in the house) but after picking up my first road bike, I was wondering is it a sensible thing to get, given I'm playing with cars and the odd stupid pedestrian? If so could you recommend somewhere?

Thanks in advance

Join the ctc or British cycling and you get 3rd party insurance as part of it. If you want more comprehensive then its a case of bike specific and personal injury specific cover. Some home insurance policies offer cover for accidental damage but worth checking the small print and that's unlikely to cover third party liability. Or racing.

British cycling ride membership is what I have. £24 per year. Much cheaper than CTC.
  • Discounts at the British Cycling Wiggle shop too, though a much smaller choice than the "regular" Wiggle shop!
