I don't really know much about road tyres, I currently have Continental Ultra sports, which came with my boardman. The tread is starting to go a bit and I think I might replace as I am getting punctures.
Are the Ultra races a good replacement?

These tyres were on my recently purchased bike and was pleasantly surprised as to how good they were/are. I am a fan of conti 4000/s ( a more expensive option) but recently had to replace one due to a bad cut whereas the Ultra's remain unmarked2010 Trek Madonne 4.7

Continental Gatorskins are good they offer excellent puncture resistance, if you commute i'd definately recommend them.Road - http://www.bikeradar.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=40044&t=12777154&p=16943702#p16943702

I preferred the Ultra Sports to the Ultra Races. They lasted longer and, although this comes down to luck, I got fewer puncturesCAPTAIN BUCKFAST'S CYCLING TIPS - GUARANTEED TO WORK! 1 OUT OF 10 RACING CYCLISTS AGREE!0
