The pics show the bikes in full built up guise, im only interested in the framesets as ive got full 105 groupset , bars and wheels in my garage at home.
The Cannondale has the name and the heritage, the Canyon frameset is a german build and is over 1kg lighter , both bikes are very similar in being alloy frames with carbon forks and both geometries are endurance and comfort orientated with big head tubes and shorter top tubes. I really am undecided as to which I prefer, out of curiousity, which would you choose ?

I find it hard to believe there's a full kilo weight difference. What figures have you got for the frames and forks?http://www.strathspey.co.uk - Quality Binoculars at a Sensible Price.

I think canyon cater for the racers with the ridiculously light ultimate aluminium, which I would be interested in, only it has a shorter headtube and is more focussed on getting the riders into flatter back flat out positions. Im a big lover of lots of miles in comfort and canyon recognise there is a growing market for this type of rider.2012 Cannondale CAAD 8 1050 -
I have an alloy Synapse & I have to say it's really comfortable & the little extra weight is not an issue.2012 Cannondale Synapse0
