Hi there. Hope someone out there can help! After losing in a fight with a car last week, I'm in need of some new wheels, cheap ones at that, just until the compo comes through. Ideally, I've been looking for white ones as I've got a CAAD8, but with no joy. However, I've come across some called: "Miche Mach 1" from triplebuttedcycling.co.uk. They're only £110, some I'm not expecting much, but I can't seem to come across any reviews or anything about them. Has anyone else got these wheels, or anything by this brand?? Also, has anyone used triplebuttedcycling.co.uk before?

Also, they're 28 spoke, I've previously had 32, with little problems, other than the factory back wheel (Maddux RS 3.0) constantly become untrue – I'm 14.5 stone on a Monday, and 14 stone on a Friday, so do you think the 28 spoke would be OK?

Thanks for all your help in advanced!

  • Thanks for your help – really appreciate that! What do you reckon on the amount of spokes for my weight?

28 is not ideal, but as you say it is a temporary fix.. and it might do... it is difficult to say, as a well built 28 spoked wheel with quality spokes will have no problem carrying your weight... problem is most cheap wheels are... well, cheap!

Should be fine on a pair of Fulcrum 7's, mine have been bomb proof and I'm not light either
  • Very true – you get what you pay for I suppose!
