after getting 2 flats in the last 3 rides i wonder wether a different tyre would be useful? can anyone recumbent any tyres that are a bit more robust for winter training?

  • i currently use Schwalbe Durano Plus (for last 2 months)

I ride dirty roads to and from work and as yet haven't had a puncture (had approx 20 this year before these tyres), but they are also good for the long journeys as well.

Had tried various tyres before this such as Bontranger / Specialised / Continental / Vreidstein which all have puncture protection, however they do not match the Schwalbe tyres.

Personally I use Conti GP 4 Seasons on both of my bikes all year around - excellent puncture resistance and decent grip in wet and dry conditions. I got a pair (25mm) including 2 spare innertubes for just over £60. Unless they suddenly fall apart, don't think I'd ever bother with another tyre.

  • Vittoria Rubino.

Been using for about a year now on the commuter. Not a single erm, problem.

High on bikes (ebay seller). £10.95 each. Bargain!!

Another vote for Conti 4 Seasons

although on my winter bike, which I ride for long miles in the cold and dark when I really, really, really don't want to get a flat, I go the whole hog and use Schwalbe Marathon Plusses
