Hello peeps.. after deciding to spend no more than £600 on my 1st road bike i have been tempted to double that figure now ive seen whats out there... but do i realy need to,, btwn £600-1200 is the difference that vast ??

The bike ive been tempted with is:

CANNONDALE CAAD 10 2013 model, alu frame, 105 etc, £1200(maybe cheaper)
PLANET X PRO CARBON RIVAL, £999
BROADMAN ROAD £600
BROADMAN TEAM CARBON £1100(i think)
SCOTT SPEEDSTER S10, alu frame with Ultegra components (perhaps cheaper 2011 model)

Ive seen the new 2013 CAAD 10 in LBS & it looks the part, let to belive its the best alu frame out there for its price & told its probably better then any low spec carbon bike.

I know its all pretty much down to personal preference but peoples comments & advise would be great!!

Any of those would do you.
As you pay more you get a lighter bike with better kit. Would you notice this as its your first bike ? Probably not.
Dont forget you need all of the kit to go with it too - shoes, pedals, tools, hat, clothes, shades etc etc.

The Boardman bikes get good reviews - the service at Halfords can be a bit hit and miss, but if you know what you're doing - or at least take someone along who does - then you wont go far wrong.

Chris Boardman was not a broad man!

    CAAD10 would be my choice.

CAAD 10 good choice, but Pauls Cycles are doing 2012 Supersix with Apex for £1199 same geometry I think.

Yes Seper6 and CAAD 10 are essentially the same frame (except the material obviously).

At £1200 the Super 6 is certainly hard to ignore but you can get a CAAD10 for under £1000, so that gives you some spare dosh to spend on clothing.
    Yellow is the new Black.

Yeah cheers for advise the peeps,, CAAD 10(2013) was the 1 i prefered but the 2012 Super Six with Apex gone done from to £1800 to £1200 with Pauls Cycles might be a no brainer if i do decide to spend that much.

So just upto me i think if im gonna spend that much or not,, i'd better get cracking at work this month & make it happen.

    cheers chaps
