Which bolt for SRAM Apex chainset/chainrings?

Hello,

I've noticed that one of the 5 bolts that connects the big chainring to the little chainring on my (fairly recently fitted) SRAM Apex compact chainset is very badly corroded. I've looked around the internet for a replacement bolt but I can't work what size I need, or where to buy them from. Does anyone know what bolt would be the correct one please?

Thanks in advance.

  • There's a kit - top of page 18 - 11.6915.009.000, 11.6915.008.000, 11.6915.012.000 - depend of which colour you want.

PS - Should say though if you take one bolt out and go down to your lbs and show them it bet they will have one that would fit without ordering this (or even B&Q or a decent ironmonger!).
  • Thanks! I've found that kit for sale but it is £20+ (which seems a lot for a few bolts), so I as I only need the one I'll go with your suggestion of removing it and taking it down to the LBS to see if they have a suitable replacement.

Most chainring bolts are a standard size/thread, so your LBS should have a suitable replacement - Apex one may be alloy / torx fitting whereas you may have to live with steel / allen key.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

Thanks a lot for the advice Monty - do you think these would be suitable in that case? Seems a good price for alloy ones:
