9 speed downtube shifters
Hi all,
Want to put 9 speed rear casette on my vintage raleigh (banana) and been told by LBS I need 9 speed downtube shifters.
Not really sure what this means/why this is different to what I already have (normal downtube shifters.. pic below)

Can anyone explain and then recommend me some cheap/good ones to do the job?
Thanks

With friction shifters that you already have there is no reason to change them unless you want/need indexing.0

Indexing is where it clicks right? I'd quite like that - is it likely to cost alot? Saw some dura-ace ones online for £70ish but there must be a cheaper option?0
