I like the Cube agree gtc pro 2012 carbon/white/blue, when and where best time to buy for best savings on 2012 model?

I'm 5ft8" which will be better 53cm or 56cm?
Wanted: Cube Streamer/Agree GTC Compact / Pro/ Race : 53cm

  • I would say if you are looking to get a 2012 model then you have to buy now. Many popular makes and sizes will already be gone so if you can find this bike then I would grab it from whatever reputable retailer you can

if you can find one, buy one. I came to a similar conclusion a few weeks ago but no local LBS could supply in my size (at 5'8" and a bit I'd be looking at a 56cm frame).
New 2013 model seems to have a lower component spec - the 2012 model does seem really good value...
Titus Silk Road Ti rigid 29er - Scott Solace 10 disc - Kinesis Crosslight Pro6 disc - Scott CR1 SL - Pinnacle Arkose X 650b - Pinnacle Arkose singlespeed - Specialized Singlecross...& an Ernie Ball Musicman Stingray 4 string...

  • I have a Cube 56cm and Im 5'9"
If you look at the cube geometries, even though the bike is a 56, there is nothing measuring 56!
on the Agree, the 56 has a 54.5cm real top tube and a 52cm seat tube, so it would be comparable to other brand's 54 or 52 size... Sizing is not transferable from brand to brand, you have to look at the geometry

In my case, I think the headtube is a bit too high for me, and the top tube a bit long, so I am using a shorter and steeper stem... But this is also because I like a quite aggressive position, even though I am not that flexible....

Bottom line, it all depends on how you are, flexible or not, build, position you want to ride, but if your LBS(or even a not-so-local) has both sizes, your problems are solved...

I've been busy looking at geometries on real top tube and head tube etc.
Tweeks bikes have geometry I found

Ive found one at a local cycle surgery But it's still full price and it's got a small paint chip on the front fork

I asked if this was best price and he said yes. I took a closer look afterwards and saw the chip but didn't mention it

Hope this helps with picking the right size, I have an Agree GTC Pro (2011 - Red/White) I'm 5.10/11 and went for a size 58 after hearing about the sizing/geometry and it fits just right for me. I've done long sportives & Alpine climbs on it without any probs, it's a pleasure to ride.
I previously had a Giant in a 56 which also fits Ok.

Which specific giant 56cm did you have?

The Giant is an SCR3, I use it regularly for the commute and sh**ty winter days. I've had it 5 yrs now and it's been great. Treated myself to the Cube last year and love it.

Not sure on the technical name of measurement but

    Cube 58 vs giant large

horizontal top tube 560mm vs 574mm
Seat tube down 540mm vs 550mm

    Cube 56 vs giant medium
Horizontal top tube 545mm vs 550mm
Seat tube down 520mm vs 500mm

I've got a large giant dealer near me might see if I'm a medium or a small then

  • Winstanley Bikes have 20% off 2012 Cube litenings in 56 - I'm 5ft 8in - I bought one last week. Very light, very nice, next model up from Agree if you can strecth to nearly £1800.

Thanks. If only budget was that much

Have you been setup on the 56cm? Any pics?
    Wanted: Cube Streamer/Agree GTC Compact / Pro/ Race : 53cm
  • Haven't had a set-up and no pics yet I'm afraid. But sizing almost identical to a Trek madone 54, or a Giant TCR size Medium. Unless you've got very long or v short legs/torso, you'll be fine.

I've read taller riders at 5'9 prefer the 53cm over 56cm when they were trying

This would have been good 20% off and 0% interest

In no rush so going to keep a eye on used
Think 53cm cube would be best even though 56 might fit but I have a shorter upper body so a little stretched
