After 9 years erratic service my zefal floor pump is bust. Its all moulded plastic, no discernable way in to see if i can fix it. Before paying £30 - £40 I saw these on ebay - do you think they are a waste of a tenner? Any advice on good dependable pumps with a decent pressure gauge?

TBH stop being tight and buy a quality pump like a Topeak Joe Blow for £28 and never be frustrated about inflating tyres again! My 2012 Cube LTD http://www.bikeradar.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=128035930

No reason at all to spend £30-40. Something like this (which is what I've got by the way) does the job perfectly well:

I brought one of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/380443582742 and has been perfect so far, not sure what else you get for another £20/£30, easy to get up to 100psi+ and goes all the way to 230........although not sure why you'd need it?Kuota Kharma Race [Dry/Sunny]
