Hi,

I'm on the hunt for a Cube road bike and think I've narrowed it down to two. With the new 2013 range coming out I've found some good deals on the 2012 range. I can't make my mind up between the following two bikes so I was hoping to hear your thoughts because it's driving me mad!

Cube 2012 Agree GTC Compact

OR

Cube 2012 Agree Pro Compact

I've just seen the Agree Pro for £1150 (RRP £1449) from another website which makes it cheaper than the Agree GTC so I think I'm edging towards this as it has some Ultegra components.

I'd love to hear your thoughts so I can stop going on about it! :)

Cheers,

Pete

  • Well the Pro has a better spec, so if you can afford it, and they have one in stock - go for it! Obvious really.

I have the 2012 GTC compact, it's a great bike.
  • Thanks, it helps to hear what someone else thinks.

My only concern was the Pro didn't have a carbon frame but does the better spec outweigh the carbon frame still?

    Thanks,

    Peter
  • You know what, I didn't even notice that! I just read 'Carbon race bike with genes and detailed technical solutions...' and switched off!

In which case I've changed my mind: Get the GTC.

I suppose that does change things somewhat, and I now understand your dilemma! I suppose it boils down to whether you want a carbon frame or not. The 105 groupset is good quality stuff, it's not a 'budget' groupset and you could always upgrade. Sorry, I've not been much help really.
  • They are really cleaver with their product descriptions, it was only when I looked at them in detail I noticed it wasn't actually all carbon.

It really is a toughie this one, I guess it does comes down to whether I want/need a carbon frame or not. From a weight point of view the website I've seen it on states the aluminium frame with carbon fork is actually ever-so-slightly lighter. That's made me think is the alu frame of better quality than the carbon frame.

    Decisions, decisions...
