Gear shifters

Hello.
Could someone tell me if shimano gear levers can be inter changed.
I want to change my sora gear levers with tiagra 4500 levers. (just seen some in the sale on chain reactions.)
Also can i change the front deraileur for another shimano one.

    Yeah, you should be fine. You'll see no advantage from changing the front mech though.

    If you have 9 speed Sora and those Tiagra shifters are 9 speed then you can swap, but 9 speed shifters won't work with an 8 speed cassette.
    More problems but still living....
