I have just bought a Colnago M10s with Ultegra Di2, I have a new 2011 SRAM red crankset and wondered if I should swap with the Ultegra ?, or is the Ultegra crankset designed specifically for the electronic shifter. SRAM red would obviously be lighter. Any thoughts welcome.

The crankset is the same for the Di2 and mechanical ultegra groupo, so would just stick with the SRAM.
  • Cheers thats kinda what I thought.

Shimano chainsets are stiff but porky, the old Red won't be as stiff as the Ultegra one but probably a fair bit lighter. I would sell them both and get something nice IMO like one of the FSA top end offerings.

Depending on arm length (need 170) and BB type (english external i.e hollogram II) I may be interested in the Ultegra if you sell
    Yellow is the new Black.

having just spent a sizeable chunk of cash, may need to wait before I go and buy any more stuff!!, but will probably swap out for SRAM

I think the cranks will be 172, but I'll check and let you know, cheers
