Does anyone have experience of the bike or the brand?
I'm tempted with it because it's carbon. I have a ctw voucher and can just about do the extra bit to get the Tiagra bike in the sale (I'm tied to Evans). Alternatively I can wait a couple of months and pick something Aluminium.
I commute every day, 8 miles each way, North London to Soho and get out some weekends for longer rides, 40 or 50 miles, sometimes somewhere nice like the Cotswold's or Chilterns. So I'm looking for something to fit that bill and maybe up the weekend mileage (My sister talked me into entering the ballot for the Ride London 100 ride).
I'm a bit unsure because of the brand being American and only available though Evans there's not much info about them out there.
Is the carbon frame worth getting a bike now even though it's from a less well known brand, or should I wait for a wider choice of 2013 bikes?
Any thoughts appreciated.
Yes, I'll test ride it.

Jamis are awesome. Looks so nice as well. I particularly love the colour scheme of the comp.0

If youre tied to Evans - you're right they don't have many carbon options at that price point. its down to your own personal preference - but for £1300 - that doesn't look anything amazing to me.
Planet X and Ribble - will do you a carbon bike for around £1000
I always like decathlon bikes - and this looks nice for £1k

With Jamis you will always get very good quality bike with decent groupset for the money. Here in the US we see a few more than the rest of the world and I don't think I've heard anything bad said about them. Plenty of other mfrs can say the same about themselves as well but if it suits you it will be as good as anything else available for the price.0
