New Bike?

Hi all,
Firstly apologies if this should have gone in the dedicated thread, saw someone mention its better to create a specific one! and again apologies if this one is a bit vague but I'm looking for some help in chosing a bike to spend around £2000-£2500 on. I started cycling about 14 months ago and I do about 80 miles a week at the moment. I've got a Specalized Allez Sport from 2011 which has served me well so far but I'm feeling ready to step it up. Depending on my situation over the next few months in terms of finances the purchase of the bike may not happen until spring next year, so I suppose that is worth bearing in mind.
I've looked at a Ribble R872 (previously Stealth I think) but got confused by the huge range of options for almost every component, I'm not educated enough in these to make an educated decision and I'm a bit concerned when spending that kind of money that I may order the wrong size or it may just not be right for me as I can't test ride it. I also previously looked at the Focus Izalco Pro 3.0, Focus Cayo, the Canyon Ultimate range and maybe the Specalized Venge (but I think this is just out of my range?) to give you an idea of the sort of bikes I like the look of!
Is electronic shifting possible in this price range? Something light and rigid would suit me I think, I'm quite an aggresive rider as well.
So, thoughts?
Thanks
Richard

I went through the same thing not so long back and went for the Izalco pro 3.0 which was a great looking bike and brilliant ride. However part of the carbon broke which is a one off and they up graded to the 2013 izalco pro 1.0. You can't go wrong with the focus good spec, stiff frame and great ride. I also looked at the ribbles, meridian as well.
Cheers

Cannondale supersix - the best carbon frame of any bike in that price range, simples!!!
Better still stretch your budget and get the SuperSix Evo - THE best carbon fiber frame going - the end.Yellow is the new Black.0 -
The new venge comp looks awesome.0

Everyone is going to recommend the bike they have themselves, so I'll do the same..
Trigon RQC-29, great frame, stiff and aggressive, good value for what you get: http://www.cycledivision.co.uk/product- ... pid24.html
I've had mine for a year now and feel no urge to replace it, which is a first for a me...
Focus Izalco and Canyon would also be great choices for value and top-notch performance.0 -

Cheers Pete, about 6 months ago I had my heart set on a 2012 Izalco Pro 3.0 but I couldn't scrape together the money quick enough and they are sold out everywhere and the frames on the 2013 aren't as nice imo.0 -

I've just bought the Canyon on your list - it's a fantastic bike.
However, it's also virtually sold out in every size. Looks like they currently have limited availability of the 54 in stealth and then the the 64 in either colour. All other sizes sold out0 -

Hey Ginger,
Thanks for the input. I am roughly a 54" maybe a bit lower so thats not great! I didn't realise there was so much of a gap between the prices of the bikes until I had a proper look this morning. The Canyon is looking good but the Rose looks unbelievable in Red and Black.

For me its the Cube. Ive got one and it rides like the mutts nuts and ive got a grin on my face every time i set off.
But any one of those bikes would be superb. Personally i wouldnt go for the Ribble, but thats just me.0 -

Can I ask why? Customer service? I am a bit concerned about that when buying online. The cusomisaion options are great but then the Rose website has it much better I realised today, I just make the bike too expensive!0 -

That red & black Xeon looks smart, though I hate the red stripes on the tyres. Overkill.0 -

I had the exact same issue i.e whether to wait for 2013 or not and personally I don't like the new frames in gloss black and white the mat black finish is lush. Unfortunately I now have the Izalco Pro 1.0 2013 which is blue, black and white in gloss as a replacement and it isn't half as nice. The Focus bikes do have a good spec on parts.
You may also want to look at spending less money on the bike and getting a really good set of wheels as they make a big difference. Other nice bikes are the Argon which are also really nice.0 -

Thats not a bad idea. Might go for the lower model CRS3000 rather than the 4000. But to be honest I'm rubbish with components so I wouldnm't know which wheels to upgrade! http://www.rosebikes.co.uk/article/rose ... aid:5568290
