  • Nice bike my son had last years model, very light he had the sora one. What I liked was that it had mudgaurd eyelets, great for the winter. Great handling as well . Always worth spending a little more for something nice.
  • It is just the price that is making me think,i never intended spending that much but if the bike will serve me well for a good few years then i suppose it is money well spent.

I will have nothing left though for upgrades so need to make the right choice.

  • Nothing to upgrade it's good enough as it is. Cannondale hold their value well for when you resale. It's a good price for a 105 speced bike.

    Tyres!
  • The tires i could stretch too, shouldnt be a problem there but that would be that.

  • I've just bought that exact model and it is lovely. I'm new to "proper" road bikes having ridden mtb for many years and more recently a cx bike but the caad8 is very comfortable and feels so much quicker than my genesis cx bike. A bargain at that price I'd say.

Thats good news.Could i ask what you paid and where from?

I am a mountain bike rider myself and not fully ridden a road bike since my youth, some 30 years and more.I am 49 now and want to hit the roads again.

  • I paid £80 more than you did about 3 weeks ago!!!
  • Its been dispatched,now i have to wait.Hopefully tomorrow.

Trouble is the weather has gone a bit crappy and i dont relish getting my brand spanking shiny new friend wet.

After three weeks with your new bike Bregante, what are your thoughts.I am waiting here like a child wanting Christmas to arrive.

  • My shiny new bike arrived today.had to assemble the bars and front wheel and a couple of bits and pieces.Luckily i had a few tools handy as the bike came without anything, not a single allen key or spanner, nowt.

I think i have it right,i tested it around the block but will need to adjust a few things before i hit the roads proper.

Anything i should do before the big ride chaps, anything i need to check?
