How to secure rear derailleur while flying?

I am going to fly for a holiday and am taking my bike with me. I have dhb large bag with somewhat rigid bottom but soft sides.

How do you guys normally secure rear derailleur so it wont be screwed during transportation?

The bike is road racing bike.

    Take it of is the best way.

    I unbolt mine, wrap it in bubblewrap and put it inside an old musette and tape it inside the rear chain stay so its out of the way.

    having a removable link on the chain is also good, then you can easily remove it and put in a padded bag rather than it flopping around on the frame
    my bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny

    Unscrew, wrap in bubblewrap and cable tie to the transport spacer in the rear drop-outs.
    Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
