MTB Cassette on a road wheel?

I'm building up a Cotic roadrat. Most parts will be transferred over from my kona as I don't ride that much anymore. So I'm hoping that I can use my current gear set up. All XT with a SRAM PG970 9 spd Cassette. The wheels I want to run are Mavic Askiums but was wondering if I can use my cassette on the new wheelset? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Thanks

Yep! But will the rear mech work with the cassette? Most road mechs can't handle large cogs over about 28 teeth.0

It's an XT rear mech, front mech and chainset so should all fit together ok?0

Should all be fine (assuming the mech capacity is large enough ie what chainset is fitted?)0

Thanks for your help, should all work then.0

as long as the speeds are the same."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
