Hi all , on my tango turbo art bike , i put on micro shift front and rear mech with shifters , sram 1090 chain , and a 10 speed cassette from the supllier of the microshift groupset .
i have tried and tried to get smooth indexing to no avail , i even tried a 1mm instead the normal 1.2mm gear cable , my chainset is a ritchey wcs carbon compact circa 2007 .

any ideas please ?? maybe a different spacer on the cassette , i have a 3mm surplus from 10th gear to frame .

cheers

  • Fitting a different sp[acer will only move the whole cassette and do nothing to help the indexing. Just follow Park tools set up of gears and it should be fine. Difficult to know what's wrong with out knowing what you have done. I could be anything from poor cable routing to improper cable tension.

  • well i just put all the new parts on , i checked the the cut new outer casings were snag free , tried a new 1mm cable as i said , and got 95% tension with the allen key nut on the rear mech , and tightened the rest up with the tension adjuster . baffled i am ? cheerrs

  • Never used microshift shifter so I do not know how smooth they are. Are you clamping the cable in the correct position. This error can cause shifting havoc.
