Been hovering on here for a few weeks, just generally reading but thought it would be a good time to introduce myself.
Currently own a Scott Aspect 50, got it as the wife suggested it was a good family thing for us all to go riding she's got a Mongoose Switchback Sport and 9 year old has a halfords Apollo something or other. If i'd have known I was going to enjoying riding this much I would have spent more, upgrades have been so far, wheels, brake discs, tyres, saddle plus took off the crap like reflectors and the stupid bell :-)

Had a good ride today 20miles around Thetford forest as this is local trail ride, look to go further afield in the future.

I also have a road bike for general fitness at 42 I like to keep in a reasonable shape.

    Welcome onboard :)
Oh, and don't worry, its normal to buy something then upgrade/change it straight away, part of the fun !

    Cheers for the welcome.
Got it last year after I found my old hybrid wasn't up to much, didn't think I would enjoy getting back into riding after a good few years out the saddle but really enjoying it, only problem I have is finding mates who will also get involved as well, most are just lazy.
  • Hey have you looked into joining a mtb cycling club? My local club is spcc at sherwood pines. I was dubious at first about joining but iv never looked back. Most clubs offer a variety of rides to accommodate different skill levels. And the bottom line is just to go and have fun. I'd recommend joining a club it's a great way to meet people with the same interest as you. And falling of is always funnier when your with someone lol
