I've purchased and fitted a Tifosi carbon 115mm bottom bracket for my centaur chainset. However it doesn't seem to slide along as much as campagnolo centaur bottom bracket, I've had to re-adjust front derailler end stops. I've attached a few pictures

Looks like a JIS taper, whereas you need an ISO taper for Campagnolo. JIS is slightly shorter and stubbier.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
  • CRC says it's ISO

I've fitted it, and also damaged BB cup so I doubt CRC will refund me. I have a spare too  is it ok to use them?

I've just checked and it says ISO! wth?

  • Right I've removed it but managled bb cups in the process  and both of them have JIS taper!

On the box it says campag fit. On the BB shells it says ISO.

So what the hell? What are my rights? I know I can return the new one, but the damaged one? If it was incorrectly labelled I think I should get replacement for correct one. Campag on the website, on the box, ISO on the shell itself but the actual taper is JIS.

  • What are CRC like with returns?

Also any tips on using BB tool so the thing doesn't slip out? I'm using the bit type with spanner, not complete bit/handle single piece tool.

  • CRC are good with returns./ They diod not get big by screwing with customers.

To stop the tool slipping get a M8 bolt and some washers. insert tool and then screw in bolt with enough washer to hold the tool formly inplace. Then use a 1" socket if a park tool and rachet or a big wrench. Works every time. Its how we all do this in shops to prevent the problem you descrfibhe from happening.
