upgrading to 2x10 advice

Hi guys little bit of advice needed, my current setup as is follows.

shifters xtr m970
xt shadow rear mech GS
kmx x9 l chain
SLX double chainset M665 with blackspire chain guide
SLX double front mech m665
Xt 9 speed cassette.

Just about to buy
xt m780 i psec shifters to go with my xtr brakes
Xt 10 speed cassette
and xt m786 shadow + gs rear mech.

Anyway my question is will i have to drop my blackspire chainguide as the shadow + rear mech will basically tension the chain stopping any unnecessary chain noise or can i keep both or is that just over kill. Is the blackspire chain guide 10 speed compatible.

Also planning to keep 9 speed setup at the front as its compatible until such time i can afford a dedicated XT twin ring chainset. Any advice would be much appreciated.

The Rookie

Neither the blackspire nor the plus clutch 'tension' the chain, the blackspire is a chain guide (only) the clutch prevents loss of tension during abrupt inputs.

You don't have to drop the stinger, it performs a different function to the clutch, you can run either, neither or both.
