I am building a Roberts 953 Audax style bike. Which of there 2 makes of hubs do people prefer? (ignoring the price!)

Royce looks more retro on a steel frame.
King is more bling on a modern frame.
IMHONone of the above should be taken seriously, and certainly not personally.0 -
dont forget I9 hubs0

19 Hubs? Is that a make?

What about Phil Wood?
I've got them on my custom Enigma tourer and they are lovely0 -
Royce, Phil Wood or PMP would be my shortlist I think.
DT are mechanically good but lack the 'I want one' effect. CK don't really do it for me either I'm afraid. And they are expensive and not light. Hope are okay but only okay IMO.
Tune are good - I have two pairs but a bit weenie for your build perhaps.Facts are meaningless, you can use facts to prove anything that's remotely true! - Homer0 -

Help save the British Economy go for Royce.0

Royce. Or if you want shiny US hubs, White Industries.0
-
Got Whites on the tandem (very nice). Also have Royce BB's on the tandem. The quality of the BB's is superb. Royce hubs hard to find unless you go the manufacturer. (Anyone found shops/mail order for Royce hubs?)0

Ordered Royce from Shedborne bikes in Brentwood.
re "19 Hubs", if the poster had googled these like I did he would not have found any bicycle hubs for sale.
"industry 9" hubs? Has anyone in the UK ever heard of these?0 -
Industry 9 used to do some great looking wheels imo, almost tempted one time ....
