I had a go on one of these at the weekend, albeit only on fire roads, but it just felt right. The dw link is great and I'm now trying to find a demo somewhere decent, not that I've got the need or money for one!
  • I love Haven bars i use them on my P7, the combo of them and the Thompson stem are a defo must have lol.
I do very much love the Ibis range but, saying that they are expensive i think for the frame alone. And it will put me off ever buying one, its like wanting Apple products, they are lovely but can you justify buying one!! LOL

Sweet ride though mate, love the simplicity of black, i find it very striking especially when a colour is subtly added

    Enjoy

Very nice frame there buddy liking those mojo's even more every time I see them.
Got any closer pics of the frame!
  • None that aren't in the thread already no, any area in particular you're interested in?

It's on a diet of Ti at the moment, I've replaced the brake mounting bolts with Ti ones because the rust on the old ones was annoying me :) I couldn't quite believe that the Ti versions were 6g lighter, which I know sounds tiny on a 12 kilo bike, but that's a 66% weight saving right there if only everything could be lightened that much instantly! (which is a somewhat weight weenie way of convincing myself there is a real reason behind the tarting)

Debating going the whole hog and getting Ti lever clamp bolts and stem bolts etc. Seem somewhat like diminishing returns though.

Ibis aren't expensive though, thats the thing. Relatively speaking, for a frame only a santa cruz nomad carbon, a trek remedy 9.9, a specialized s-works stumpjumper fsr, Yeti sb66c are all well over £400 more expensive than a Mojo HD. A remedy frame is nearly £3k! And in the s-works and remedy's case it's just a trek or a specialized, hardly a niche or exclusive brand... It's like buying a half a million pound vauxhall...

So yes whilst they are not cheap, comparatively to the competition, they are very well priced.

especially when you pick up the frame second hand and still under warranty  I didn't have a budget in mind when I built this up, but I reckon I've built it up for roughly the cost of the current frame, give or take.
  • Now with a shorter stem.

The most recent Ti upgrade however was to my wrist! Been off the bike since the beginning of November. Got given the all clear to get back on the bike last weekend and it bloody snowed! Should be popping out on my hardtail for a quick run around this weekend to see how it goes.

If you bought it second hand you have no manufacturers warranty, non transferable.

There might be a warranty, but Ibis will sort out anything should it go wrong at minimum cost to the owner of the bike, their customer support is excellent. I think a chap on here bought a second hand frame that developed a cosmetic crack, so it wasn't structural, he paid for a new front triangle at cost to Ibis and got the colour changed to the one he wanted and a new rear to match! Now thats what I call service!!

Touch wood I've had no problems with my frame, but I've no doubt if I did I wouldn't have any problems.
