    Sprint finish.

    Yes
    Degenkolb probably wins.

    No, he's my PTP choice.

A day to get on with some work and just watch the last 10 minutes of the highlights programme.

I might actually be able to watch the end of the stage at home on my TV today as opposed to listening to it in one ear and flipping across to the web stream in a browser for the finish, so of course instead of an exciting up hill finish we get a flat sprinter's stage. I quite like sprint stages in general, but it's hardly the strongest field of sprinters ever assembled is it?

Unfortunately Sean Kelly will be mumbling a bit more than usual today.

Got a feeling this one may go to the break. Can't see anyone but Argos wanting to chase.

Shame it's such a dull day. Could do with some cycling to improve the day.

    Cricket rained off.

Means that having told the Mrs i'll be home early today I have no excuse not to get on with painting the bathroom.

No control of the remote, now you're painting the bathroom yourself?

    For shame friend, for shame.

I started reading them, read about half the first page then gave up and decided not to waste my life any further with any of it. I'm far more interested in a dull sprint stage in the Vuelta than I am in the who sorry LA debacle.

    Plus, paint fumes rock.

Off topic I know but it looks like I was wrong. Argos have the break pegged at just over 4 minutes. All set for a sprint.

Desperately clutching at straws, the Cyclingnews.com preview of the stage says "Bingen Fernández: "The key issue here will be if the wind starts to blow and which direction it comes from. When I rode the Vuelta in April, the wind in this area used to be hell but it does drop in September. If it does blow, it could easily split the peloton."

Degenkolb has gone from being an unsucuessful GT stage contender if it was slightly uphill to.... the Vuelta's Cav - his team is the only one willing to work.

  • Painful listening to Sean Kelly waffling about the big subject of the day.
Somehow, I can't quite see him as being this naive.
Harmon is right about the "talisman" for others, but wrongly brings up
the "they were all at it, at the time", excuse.
Vino was also doping during the same era.
