I have a set of continental gp 4000s that have covered approx 2700 miles the rear is quite cut up and i'm nearly down to the tread wear indicators, the front still looks good.
Both tyres but more so the rear one have both developed quite big dips and dents in them and they seem to have gone quite out of shape is this normal for this to happen on such expensive tyres, I am now very dubious about buying another set of them.
Curious what's caused these big dents could they have been avoided are they still ok to ride on is it something I have caused, the wheels now look they are out of true when you spin them because the tyres are so out of shape.

Pics would help the diagnosis.
My rear Conti 4 seasons just gave out after 5 years and over 3000 miles. Don't think it owed me anything after that. The tread had become so thin it started coming off in chunks so huge patches of the carcass were showing through
Quite pleased that I fitted the replacement entirely without tools0 -
What pressures have you run them at ? Have you been locking up ?
I've never had any problems with my GP4000s.0 -
2700 is pretty good mileage out of them in my view. Rear tyres will wear faster. Not sure what you are describing with regards to the deformations, would need to see pics.0

I'll see if I can get pics up tonight.
Pressure wise 105 in the rear and 90-95 in the front.
I haven't locked the wheels up and the tyres are approx 8 months old.
To describe it I can run my had around the tyre and the tyre dips in in certain places and the side walls seem to have flattened in a bit to.0 -
2700 miles is entirely reasonable for a rear, I get about 2000 on Michelin Pro Race 3 tyres (rear) , about 3000 on the front.0
