Moving Rear Mech
I'm sorry that this is such a stupid question but here goes!
I'm having some trouble with rear mech adjustments on a fairly new bike - just can't seem to get it to index properly. I was just about to replace the mech hanger to see if that may be bent when I noticed that the rear mech is bobbing when you pedal. I can't recall ever seeing a rear mech do that before - is it normal? I don't think it is. If it isn't normal how do you get it to stop! Cheers

Is the mech fitted on the correct side of the rear hanger? There's usually a little plastic stop that goes to the rear, and the b-adjustment screw touches this. Sounds like its to the front and so allowing the mech to pull forwards / up.0

1. Check your indexing - if the chain is mis-tracking the sprocket it's supposed to be on then the chain tension on the low side will vary, causing the derailleur to move
2. Check the chain for stiff links.- - - - - - - - - -
