Seat post shims – last resort?

Or do they work OK? My seatpost has cracked and its 29.4 mm. If I shim down to 27.2 I have all makes to choose from. Otherwise its down to another esoteric Italian brand called WR.

hmmmm isn't 29.4 larger than 27.2 or am I missing something0

doooohhhhhh well in that case can't see any reason not to I've been using a USE 27.2 with a shim for ages0

Worth a go in this case. Whats the worst that could happen ? Your saddle slides down a bit ?
