shimano rs80 c24 rim tape

Hi. I've just received a shimano rs80 c24 wheelset. Its the first time I've replaced my wheels myself and am wondering whether I need to buy rim tape. I've searched the web and seem to be getting mixed messages with some reviews saying it is not needed / comes with it on and others saying you need it. Does anyone know if these wheels need the tape adding on? Thanks

    The only time you should need to buy rim tape is if you're building your own wheels or if you had to cut off the old tape to replace a broken spoke.
