New drive train advice

Hi, I have a 2007 GT Avalanche 1.0 which has been suffering from a lot of chain suck lately. After investigating the chainrings and cassette are both worn.
I know that I need to replace these and the chain (none of these have ever been changed since the bike was new). I have a few questions:
1: Would these be the correct components to buy?

http://www.wiggle.co.uk/shimano-deore-h ... -cassette/
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... delID=6053
2: Are there better options available for roughly the same price?
3: Is there anything else I would need?
4: Is this a job I could do myself? I'm not very well versed in bike mechanics but have the Lidl tool kit and Zinn's book to hand.
5: Should I buy any other tools? I have a park tools crank puller in addition to the lidl stuff but that's it.
Any other help or recommendations would be greatly received. I'd love to upgrade the parts but money is a bit tight unless someone has some suggestions?
Many thanks

The Lidl kit will do the job, but you may need something substantial to turn the cassette tool and a fat screwdriver for the female chainring bolts.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

Thanks. Have just got a big 1 inch spanner off my dad - going to buy the cassette tool this morning.
Does anyone know if the chain set on my bike is square or power spline? From a few reviews I've read I'd like to upgrade the chain set from the truvative - anyone got any suggestions?0 -
Look down the back of the cranks, if it's square taper it will be obvious as the square section extends out the rear of the arms - and the lidl crank puller won't work on non ST.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

Thanks. Will have a look this afternoon. With regards to the cranks - would this be any good?
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=40496 Seems to be a decent upgrade from the truvative.0
