Float 140 RL not utilising full travel

I am having problems getting my Fox Float 140 RL to utilise its full travel potential. I think its a 2010 model.
I noticed it when bouncing thebike around a bit then ran a few tests when I got home....
Backed off rebound to its slowest setting...............
de-compressed air spring completely............
tried to compress fork, only to find it wouldnt travel past 100mm of its 140mm travel.
I'm at a loss of what to do next? I would like to try to deal with it myself as sending it to Mojo will be expencieve.
Any suggestions of whatthe problem could be and how to deal with it wold be much appreciated.
