My lights are crap so I'm looking for some good 'uns for the coming nastiness. They'll only be for commuting so don't need to light the whole world up. Ideally under £70ish for a fr + rr set and able to recharge at work. Any advice appreciated.

  • Hope vision 1 front light is worth a look, plenty of bang for the buck http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HOPE-VISION-1 ... 063wt_1195

As for a rear light i use 2 of the Smart Lunar R1 lights, cheap and bright as anything http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Smart-Lunar-R ... 331wt_1397

    I have the exposure flash/flare set for my bike http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=70065

Seriously bright, takes 2 seconds to attach/detach from bike, easy switch on and off even with gloves on and come with rechargeable batteries and charger.

You can probably find them for less than £70 if you shop round. Don't get the non-rechargeable ones though, the rechargeable batteries produce a brighter light and obviously are rechargeable.
  • Hope Vision 1 is 64.95 at Ribble (can you say that word at the mo?) I want one, but have to wait till Payday when the wife gives me my pocket money.

    Not quite!

The Flash (Front) has more lumens with the rechargeable batteries AND a shorter running time.

The Flare ( Rear) has the same lumens with either battery but 3 x longer running time with rechargeables.

    Facebook? No. Just say no.
  • Moon Gem 2.0s. You can get the pair for just over £20, they're USB rechargeable and have plenty of power. I only use mine on the helmet and have some cateyes on the bike, but they are great, little lights for the price.
