Fitting front wheel

Bit of a newbie question here but I'm trying to fit my front wheel to the forks however, I can't seem to get the disc brake and subsequent wheel to fit I between the pads. I've tried loosening the pads to create a bit of room but it it still won't fit. Any advice or anything?

It's a Cube LTD Race.

Stick a big screwdriver between the pads and twist it like a key.

And make sure the quick release skewer is loose enough.

Cheers guys. Also received 4 screws and a couple of bits of plastic, one shaped like a U. Any ideas?
