hey all

iv been riding mountain bikes for some years now but im looking for a road bike and im not sure what to go for. im looking at low prices max of 350 and i have a few questions.

1 i ride a 20" frame on my mountain bike but iv noticed that road bikes are done in cm and im not sure if i should be on a larger frame or same size

iv seen a few bikes but not sure about the best for the price i will only be using it for commuting and general leisure.
the bikes iv seen so far are

    What I would buy

I have a similar budget for a bike for my girlfriend for Christmas and I will be buying the Triban 3.

Spec and weight is unrivalled at this price.

cheers could you offer any help with the sizes just with a mountain bike its just inches where as from what i can see on the decathlon site the sizes are unusual eg 60/23,62in?

The Halfords bike are similar to the Triban but the Triban has a Carbon fork, full 2300 groupset (with Sora front mech I believe) and it is a bit lighter. Any of the Carreras are good value but the Triban is better value.

RE sizes: I ride a 22" Cube MTB and my road bike is a 62cm (I am 6ft 3) Cube do have small sizes though I would normally ride a 20" MTB. Both my bikes fit me perfectly though.
