Hi All,

I noticed a clicking noise on some gears. Mainly when the back is the smaller cog and the front is bigger. Further inspection I noticed the chain at the back slightly touches the next cog up every now and again. Is this easily fixed or do I need a new cassette or?

The chain is well lubed.

Thanks

Check your indexing. Park Tools for a guide.
  • Could be one of several things:
Something as simple as the cable has stretched & needs adjusting.
Mech or hanger are slightly bent, throwing the indexing out.
The cable might need replacing as grit between the inner & outer can cause too much friction, not allowing it to run smooth & holding it instead of letting the mech move properly.

I have tried to set the front derailleur and index the rear but i still get clicking. It does not seem to rub anywhere and gears seem to change fine. Would this mean anything needs replacing? or should i leave it into a shop?

A video of bike upside down pedalling, showing the setup would help.

Is it ok to leave my bike upside down for a period of time? Is it bad for anything? The shox?

    Thanks

    Nope, everything will cope fine.

If it's touching the next gear it MUST be one of the issues mentioned.
