Brake pads

Hi-cant get enough purchase on the screws that hold the pads in-must be 2 or 2.5 hex keys but they just turn round in the screws.Any ideas to get enough torque on them?Prob need to pack them with something to get a grip but cant think what.
Whats the solution? Just pedal faster you baby.

    or - if you don't mind ruining the heads of the screws a slight bigger Torx head tapped in with a hammer usually works.

    Last resort is a set of pliers or mole grips to get the screw out. Or just get some new brake shoes.
    More problems but still living....

    That's what I do. Then put a small dab of grease on the threads before putting them back in to make it a bit easier to get them out next time.

    Thanks-given it a try and no joy.New shoes then.The pads were only fitted a few weeks ago and IIRC there was thread lock on them from new-problem is getting the right size hex to fit.Wont do the same again.
