Ok I have the Trek 4.5 and I had the opportunity to ride the Cannondale. With both bikes having similar components, I found the frame of both bikes to be very good. To decide which one is best between to me would be based on 3 things.
1. What price you can get each bikes for.
2. Which bike with its set set up is a little more comfortable
3. Which color you like best and which bike just seems to do it for you.
In riding both bikes I think I could get use to the slightly different ride they offer, but I think it has to do more with the wheels and fit instead of the frame itself. I am still glad I have my Trek, but think I would be equally happy with the Cannondale. Perhaps spending more time with the Cannondale would weigh me more to one over the other, but I like both bikes

The only feedback I can give is that had a synapse 105 but started racing and upgraded as the geometry isnt up to it, only what I experienced, if you have no intention of racing then it wont matter reallyAll about the aggregation of marginal gains (or marginal losses, depending on who you are!!)0
