Orange 5 Pro, colours and brakes....

Hi everyone

Am on the verge of ordering a new orange 5 pro and I wanted to see if any of you have any pics of good colour combos for frame a wheelsets. As there is the choice of colours I can imagine there are some horrific combos but I'm after something distinctive and cool.

Any suggestions with pics?!

I was thinking maybe neon orange frame with neon green wheels?

Also - is there an easy ref guide as to the hope brake options? Have looked on the hope website and can't tell the difference between the Tech Evo m4 and tech Evo v2 (except one is twin piston), but the v2 is twice the upgrade price (and one piston less!)

Finally - does anyone know if you can customise things like hope hub colours when ordering a custom build like this? Also the hope finishing kit on the brake levers / calliper caps etc?

Cheers

    Green and orange sounds horrible.
Black frame, black rims and hope m4 brakes would be my choice.
Are you prepared for the 5 rattle? Great ride but they sound like a sack of spanners. You can hear an orange before you see it. Rides really nicely though.

Disclaimer: That purple colour looks good for a 5. The thing itself still looks like a skip etc. Just a purple one. I like purple.

    Schlurple the purple.

Thanks people, glad to see the 5 views are still out there ;)

So not loving the orange/green then, fair enough probably would be horrid.

That purple with white wheels would look cool, but so would a disco black metallic frame with neon green wheels too.

Surely buying a new bike is a great chance to go a bit crazy with the colours!?

Purple is a great colour, I resprayed my Kraken Ford Metallic purple.

5's get Marmite opinions, cooldad is a hater, but as you want a 5, if you can get a black with gold decals frame they look great but they don't offer that combo very often.

Have a look at the Orange facebook page. There are some hideous looking colour combos on there.I seem to remember one in pink with a green swing arm and orange rims, just plain nasty.

It's going to be butt-fugly whatever colour scheme you choose, so why not go two tone? Baby sh*t and dysentery green.

    Blue and orange?

The M4 is a Trail-AM brake. The V2 is more of a downhill brake. The V2 will be more powerful and deal with heat better than the M4, but will also be significantly heavier.
I would go the for the M4.
  • I own a cloud white Pro 5 with M4 brakes, it came as standard, recently i was in ambleside and came across a cloud white frame with neon orange rims. My personal view was......mint, it looked very good and something i will be going for.
The M4 brakes are good stoppers but do a lot of squeeling, hope brakes are known for this and a bit of rattling.

    Hope this helps.

or get neither as they're terrible.

Except you cant spec anything else on the orange site.

Whilst not the best brakes out there, the new m4 evos are half decent
