momentarily from the herd and thinks for himself.

I enjoyed that...
Comments on the video saying both that it was fixed and that Cavendish had broken the fix by winning when it should be McEwan's turn as it was his last race.
Any comments from those who are more knowledgable than me?0 -
Great quality on the vid. Cav getting half a wheel ahead when it mattered. Looks like he has put Saturday behind him quickly. Good result for Robbie as well.0

Was a post Tour crit no?
If so, the result should have been decided before the race.Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.0 -

They're not real races.
They're shows for the spectators (who are often paying for the privilege).0 -

Yeah?
If you want to watch them race, go watch a race.
In cycling, by and large, when you watch in person you can't really tell if they're going 90% or 100%. It's just bloody fast. Nor does the fact they're really racing or just riding around fast putting on a show really tell, since you're only rooted to one spot where they wizz by you anyway.
What's interesting is actually seeing them up close. They're ridiculously impressive. You then also get a big chance to get autographs, photos with them, and get up close and personal to the heroes you saw on the Tour.
Having seen them up close a few times now, I can just believe that people fell for those ridiculously embellished newspaper stories before radios. Up close they almost seem kinda super-human - and you'd never know how the race panned out - only that their physiques match those heroic stories.0 -

And for Cavendish to make €60K.
Wiggins would probably get a fair bit more change than that at the moment.Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.0 -

We need some folks to shell out for crits in the UK.
And please don't make the obvious Olympic joke...It's a little like wrestling a gorilla. You don't quit when you're tired. You quit when the gorilla is tired.0 -

Ahem. Nobody called crits chippers.
I'd bloody love it if riders had to have one of those cams on when they raced, how scary would it be watching some of the descents? Would be awesome to have a helmet cam in a bunch sprint as well.Warning No formatter is installed for the format0 -

I think they were talking about that at some point on eurosport during the TdF. maybe the French broadcast boss was pushing for it?0 -
He won again this evening near Pau. Critérium de Lacq Audéjos. Fixed or not it was great fun to watch. 42 laps of a 1.6km circuit, you got to see the race twice each lap. €100,000 was put up by Total ELF, owners of the oil and gas refinery in the town.

5: Roche

FWIW I would be happy to do crits at Hog Hill and/or Hillingdon for <£60K. In fact for just ten thousand British pounds, I guarantee to delight the crowds by drifting in somewhere between 12th and 20th without ever threatening to win.0

Fantastic! These two wins make up for his rubbish season so far!0

I'd rather see them get drunk before they put on the show - well worth the money!0 -
FYI, Froome's girlfriend is very much a fan of Vino.
They were both riding in a crit in south of France. Froome 'won'.

what Vino has on his jersey is definitely going to be removed by the IOC. They stopped Pascal Richard from having the rings on his jersey in 1996 so I can't see how Vino will get to use this top even privately0

Great vid. Can't believe they raced them on such shitty roads....0
