Which Bike out of these?

Hey guys I made a thread yesterday but decided to make a new one as this thread is in a 'different direction'.
I've been out again today looking at bikes and I've came to the decision, with me being quite a tall and heavy guy ( around 19st, 6.3ft ) I needed a more reliable bike that would last longer and carry more weight.
The type of bike that I wanted was for both road and cross country ( For just general bike rides with a few mates on the roads and forests around the north east, such as Kielder Forest and local tracks )
I was looking at these 3 bikes originally
Carrera Centos

Rockrider 5.3 2011

Rockrider 5.3 2012
http://www.decathlon.co.uk/rockrider-53 ... 06682.html
But after going down my local bike shop, low fell cycles and speaking to the guy there he told me that a more suitable bike such as the Forme Ramble would be more suitable for what I was after, which is a road and off road bike. Also this bike would be able to carry my weight and last me for years to come.
Forme Ramble

After a sit down on the bike and measuring it up everything seemed fine and it's all good to go, but I of course, knowing nothing about bikes, wanted to come online and ask you guys to see if I was getting a good deal and that this bike would be suitable for what I need at the £450 mark and if there is any other bikes around this price range that would be more suitable.
Ok sorry for the wall of text anyway and the double post!

The Forme ramble is simply a mountain bike with slicker tyres, and not a very good one at that. 21 speed components are basic, the fork is a stinker and the cable disc brakes will probably not perform well for your weight. I'd get a full on MTB, you can always change the tyres.
The Rockriders are better bets, though consider this which gets hydraulic brakes:

These seem like very nice bikes and I would love to get one but they seem to be more for the mountain biking type of rider where as I'm looking for a bike that can do a bit of both. Would this be suitable still?
It would be fantastic if someone could show me a few bikes that they would recommend for road and country / off road use for around £300 - £450.
Thanks again0 -
It will still be suitable - as above the forme (and many similar hybrids) are MTBs with slicker tyres. And hybrids that lean towards road at this price are still heavy and under specced - this MTB will give you more versatility, and has parts that work well.0

That Forme is pants.
The Kona Dew is a better bike for the money if you go down the Hybrid line.0
