Shimano Bracket Stuck :-(

OK so I am fairly sure i know the answer to this, but before I bork the living hell out of my bracket i thought i had better double check just in case.
So I am trying to get my Shimano BB-ES25 bracket out of my bike, and though i can get the cap out from the side opposite the chainset, the side on the chainset refuses to move :-(
Firstly am I right in assuming that to loosen you have to go anti clockwise?
Secondly am I right in assuming that you might need to apply a bit of lubricant if stuck?
Thirdly am i right in assuming that I should tap my socket wrench with a hammer as i attempt to loosen the cap?
I have tried all these things am so far i seem to be going nowhere fast. The only thing i can think of if all of these are correct is maybe a bike frame expands in the heat which would make it tough to get the brack to move at all.
Grateful for any pointers.

Doh I meant clockwise not anti clockwise - basically if the wrench were facing up (12 o clock) you have to move it towards the front of the bike right?0

The chainset side is clockwise to loosen, so yes.
Is the tool you are using hollow? If so clamp it into the splines on the bottom bracket using a quick release skewer (as the axle is hollow too). Then tap the handle of the tool/wrench with a hammer.0 -
Put the other side back in snugly then undo the drive side. The collar supports the bb making it easier."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Cheers. Was just wondering how the OP got on and whether he managed to get it removed.0

If the driveside is tight, take the non drive out and spray some penetrating oil in (not WD40) then put the non drive back in, leave to soak and then try and remove the drive side.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0
