Hi. Can anyone tell me if a conversion cassettes are any good? I'm looking at buying a set of wheels but they are a shimano freehub and I'm running Campag. So I've found an Ambrosio conversion cassette. I just wanted to know if there any problems with going this route?
Thanks

If I was you I'd save the hassle of fitting, messing about and the added weight and just buy campag. Merlin and ribble have good deals on them at the minute. A decent pair can also be picked up on ebay for less than £200.

As above - i'm not a fan of conversion cassettes (especially as you havent bought your wheels yet).

Is there a specific set of wheels you are looking at??

Just get a Jtek shiftmate and use a shimano cassette. Or get a wheel builder to build you a set of campag freindly wheels.

Plenty of places to get wheels - just get the right fitment, why make it more complicated.

ambrosio conversion cassette works fine and unless youre running record or above theres no weight penalty
