Jagwire extras

Can anyone explain why the Jagwire 'EZ Bend' is fitted on the brake cables and not the gear cables?
Also, the pic above, I presume that these brake ferrules are fitted onto the inner cable above the brake caliper and then the ferrule part sits in the recess where the tension adjuster is, or am I completely wrong?
I have no idea what all this fancy stuff is.
TIA

Spot on with the "pop" adjuster thingies. I don't think they work as well as traditional ferrules though.
The reason for having ez. Bend on brakes but not gears is the relative tightness of the bends in the cable route for each.0 -
Thank you for the info, phy2sll2!
I may give them a miss in that case. Just considering my next cable change and was edging towards Jagwire. May stick with Shimano branded stuff. Do you have any personal experience with Jagwire stuff?

Unless your going to go for something fully sealed like Gore On then they are pretty much all the same. Except jagwire come in many colours and are normally cheaper than Shimarno or Campag.0

Yup, Jagwire stuff is very smooth if it's set up correctly.0

I'm considering going for a sealed set-up next time I change my cables. I've been looking at Jagwire and Gore kits but, for the price, I find them to be a bit of a rip off. I'm thinking of buying some housing and then getting the 'extras' from eBay. I can get cheap PTFE clear liner in 5 metre lengths for around £4, which I can run between cable stops on the exposed inner wires. A mountain bike brake noodle would serve as the fancy Gore 'grub cover' and ferrules and crimps are easily found online.
Any thoughts on the ford and againsts of sealed systems?Ghost Race 5000 (2011) Shimano 105 Black
